A couple 'Vettes and a McLaren

Because what's cooler than cool cars?
                                                  That's right, nothing.

This guy hangs out at our gym

I admired this fella on my way home from work for a few weeks...
he's gone now. :(

McLaren on our way to church!

I love all the cool cars you get to see when you live in the city! I've seen loads of Corvettes, Mustangs, Chargers, Challengers, and Porshes. I've even seen a few Teslas ((drool)), Lambos, Maseratis, and even a Lotus. I love it!

Lunch Date

I worked in the morning today, and Zack got off from training early so we went on a lunch date! We tried this new place called Picnikins. It was on the way home and exactly what I wanted ((I really am a soup & sandwich kind of gal)). Zack had Roasted Poblano Soup, and I had Tomato Basil, which came with cute little designs on them. I'm sure there's a name for the little designs, but I'm not swanky enough to know it. Our sandwiches even had sprouts ((so you KNOW it's fancy lol))!

Ratchet

I'm not "hip" or "up with the lingo", but I'm pretty sure this is the definition of ratchet. Nobody should see this in the grocery store parking lot.

Ya, that's pretty ratchet.

Salt Lickin' Good

So there's this thing called The Salt Lick in Driftwood Texas, and it's pretty much heaven on earth. If you go on a Saturday, you can wait for a table outside while you listen to live music and sip on fresh lemonade. When you get inside, you sit on a bench at a large table and order the all-you-can-eat family style meal. You eat endless amounts of  bread, the best potato salad to ever grace your tongue, and the best sausage, brisket, and ribs on the planet. Then you make room for blackberry pie with a heaping scoop of fatty vanilla ice cream. Once you're finished, you dream of taking a nice long nap as you waddle back to your car to die of a food coma.

We've done this three times now, and it was glorious.

Z doing the "waddle" to the car.

Hard to see, but check out that Zebu (a humpback cow)!

Stopping at Buc-ee's is a must!

Going out for some Bahama bucks later in the day is the perfect way to add some sugar to all that fat you ate earlier. A balanced diet is crucial to a healthy lifestyle. ;D

I'm getting used to this Texas thing. :)

SYP

This summer I worked for SYP. What is SYP you ask? It's San Antonio's Parks and Rec Summer Youth Program. Sounds fun, doesn't it? That's what I thought too. Anyway, to make a long, painful summer short here's a collection of pictures from our parties, activities, and those not-so-great moments. Enjoy!

A photo from my training at Luther Burbank High School
There were hundreds of people at the training, but I was pretty much on my own.
I guess eating out is all the rage these days.

After lunch I went on a walk. There were a couple of these cool benches.
I really liked them so I snapped a picture!

There was a wall in the main hall that showed where all the seniors were planning to go to college. I spotted this little guy!!!

Here's Shirley J. Howsman Elementary School where I spent my days with the kids.

My co-workers Cassandra, Marko, and Michaelangelo.
These guys were fantastic and I would not have survived without them!

 Some artwork
These are "self portraits" of my group

A nice collection of flowers from their study of Georgia O'Keeffe

A couple drawings given to me by a girl who found out I love The Lego Movie

Our Study on Jackson Pollock

My Pollock painting, yes, I saved it!

"Goodbye" Notes

Artwork of another nature...

((A local artist))

 ((Ladies restroom))

(("The Smear" in the boy's restroom, a lovely going away present the last week of camp))

 ((Some very creative people labels))

((Ladies, again))

We ate some food

We played some games

((And the winners got to play us counselors!))

And I took some selfies

((Animal Care Services))

 ((Bloody nose))

It  was a difficult summer, but toward the end I really was sad to say goodbye to the kids. I definitely would prefer to never return though. But, if it weren't for this job I wouldn't have my new, totally awesome job ((another post for another day))!

What do you do with your free time?

Honestly? Not much. But thanks to our buddy Cole, when we DO do something, we've discovered we enjoy hitting balls!

There's always lots of deer on and around the golf course and driving range.

We may not be good at it, but we enjoy it. That's all that really matters. :)
