9 Months

Zeke is 20 lbs, and 28 inches long. This happy little boy is crawling, pulling himself up to stand, getting into everything, clapping, waving occasionally, and making all kinds of fun new noises including DA DA (so I guess we know what his first word will be...stinker). His favorite foods this month are applesauce, bananas, yogurt, and rice rusks....plus more cheerios than I'd like to admit.

Texas Wildflowers

After the Strawberry Festival we stopped to take some photos in a field full of wildflowers. We love Texas this time of year!

Poteet Strawberry Festival

We drove down to Poteet with our friends Austin and Katie for the Strawberry Festival. There was a parade, food vendors, and more! We skipped out on the carnival rides, concerts, and fireworks because we're old and lame now. ;) The strawberry shortcake and smoked turkey legs were divine!

Busy Saturday

At our church the members are in charge of keeping the building clean. The first Saturday of 2016 was our assigned week! We had to get up early, after a particularly rough night with Zeke, and clean our lovely building. Almost all the assigned families were there and many hands made light work...plus there were doughnuts! Lucky us!

After a quick Home Depot run we came home and got crazy. We put all the Christmas decorations away, cleaned, and then moved Zack's office to the living room. I'm still not sure if we'll like it, but we're ready to have Zeke in another room and hopefully all 3 of us will sleep better. We also went though all the cables, computer parts, and more and have more to get rid of than I'd like to admit.

This year church is at 9am, so hopefully we'll have plenty of time for a well deserved nap tomorrow!

New Year's Eve as a New Mom

It's not everyone's dream New Year's Eve, but it's mine! Baby in bed on time & a nursing session at midnight while listening to all the fireworks go off!

Christmas Eve

Woo! Christmas eve!!!

We had a pretty chill day. We made dinner, watched Christmas vacation, and finished the puzzle, "Christmas Delivery."

Zack's computer parts came today and he gave some cookies to the UPS man, who was crazy excited about them. Ha!

Also...I think Zeke joined a baby biker gang while I wasn't watching. :P

Christmas Baking: Day 2

Today I finished all our Christmas treats! I may or may not have have a stomach ache from a sugar overdose.

When Zack got off of work we took treats to our friends and looked at Christmas lights.

I also worked some more on our puzzle and munched on cheese & crackers...a Christmas essential at our house!

Christmas Baking: Day 1

I caught a nasty bug before we left Oregon and this weekend I finally started feeling better! What a lame time to get sick! I'm having to fit Christmas into less than one week. So today I got busy making Christmas goodies. I made chex mix, fudge, and Sprtizgeback (a German butter cookie). Hopefully tomorrow I'll get the Vanillekipferl and Pfeffernusse cookies made. I also got a Christmas puzzle started while I sipped on eggnog!

I love Christmas!

I also love finding out new things about Zack, even after 6 years together. I was rolling on the floor in tears today when he said "shredded wreat." Who can't say wheat? Hilarious!

5 Months

Zeke is 5 months old today! He's been a busy baby this month! Sitting, rolling, and maneuvering around in circles on the floor...pause while I pull him away from the wrapped Christmas presents... :O. He's tried avocado and butternut squash, which he liked more than I had anticipated. I have really enjoyed breastfeeding, and a part of me was hoping he wouldn't like food so much. I'm glad he's a good eater though! He's exclusively wearing 9 month clothes and our size 1 diaper covers are quickly meeting their match. He plays more independently and is usually pretty happy, but is keeping mommy and daddy up at night again! 4 month sleep regression has not been kind to this home. :p We love this adorable little guy!
