Blue Bonnets

The Blue Bonnets are in full swing right now in southern Texas. I have been lusting after these bad boys since I first laid eyes on them last year. Getting a picture in them is a tradition round these parts, so after I whined about needing to do this, my pal Stephanie jumped at taking me! She's seriously the best! My favorite pictures are the ones I took of her little boy sweetly sitting among the flowers.

23 Weeks!

It's been a month since I posted a baby update! Oops!

Here's what I'm looking like these days:

Other updates...

We bought a car!

It's been great having two cars! It's a '07 V6 Camry SE. Nothing swanky, but it's enjoyable to drive and in good shape. We have already given it a lot of love and updates (it's always interesting to see how other people care for their vehicles). Originally it was supposed to be my car, but Zack has sort of fallen in love with it, and that's okay! :) We trade rigs every few days. :p

We also bought a small freezer for storing meals, milk, and baby food when we get to that stage. Our fridge/freezer is too small. I already put some bread in there to freeze, it's amazing not having a freezer crammed full all the time.

As for our time with the maternal fetal specialist, it appears the cyst is the only concern, meaning the likelihood of blob having Trisomy 18 is very low. The only way to KNOW for certain is to do an amniocentesis, something I am not going to risk given our circumstances. Long story short, we aren't stressing about it. Things could go wrong at any time and right now we just want to enjoy our precious gift.

At work things have changed some. I'm now teaching in schools during the day, rather than after school. I had pretty much one day to learn the new curriculum, but it's all the same information just a different presentation. It's a breath of fresh air to be doing something new, and there's more support from the teachers with keeping the kids in line (a major relief). I think I'll be doing that till summer, and then we usually teach summer youth programs. The only downside is that my schedule is a little all over the place, but it's temporary.

I'm still feeling pretty good, but I have days where I just want to be lazy. The weather is supposed to be turning around now, so that will help my mood. :) Everything at our most recent appointment last Tuesday is looking great! I know I'm not that big, but the stretching is crazy! My whole abdomen, especially my sides feel like I'm holding a painful yoga pose, especially after a large meal. Haha! I don't really have any 'cravings' other than I really want FILLING foods like grains and protein (meat is so GOOD). I get cranky in the evenings, but Z is a pretty good sport about it, laughing off my words said out of moodiness or hanger. ;) We're so excited for baby to join us in a few short months! It's all happening too fast and not fast enough!

Half Baked

We reached the half way point of pregnancy as of this past Monday!  Week 20 has comprised of multiple trips to the car dealership with nothing to show for it, exhaustion, lots of stress, and now it's wrapping up with a nasty cold. I'm ready for a new week (and hopefully finalizing on this beauty)!
